Count in 2s
Today I will: count in 2s from 0.
What are we counting in? Socks come in pairs.
So we count in 2s: 2, 4, 6, 8.
4 pairs make 8 socks.
2, 4, 6, 8
How many socks? Count in 2s.
Count in 2s. Fill in the missing numbers.
After 18 comes 20. After 48 comes 50.
Pairs or socks? Read each question carefully.
Pairs and socks are two different numbers.
Count in 5s and 10s
Today I will: count in 5s and 10s with the same jump every time.
Start at 0. The first jump lands on 5.
Same jump every time!
5 jumps, but we land on 25.
Same jump every time!
Each hand has 5 fingers. How many fingers? Count in 5s.
How much money? Count in 10s.
Fill in the missing numbers. Same jump every time.
Complete the number line.
Patterns on a hundred square
Today I will: find patterns when I count in 2s, 5s and 10s.
The 10s all end in 0.
The 5s end in 5 or 0.
From 0, the 2s end in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8.
What do you notice?
What comes next?
Check with the pattern. Does your number end in the right digit?
Colour the numbers you say when you count in 2s from 0.
What do you notice? Tell a grown-up.
Count back
Today I will: count back in 2s, 5s and 10s.
40 is the start. It is not a jump.
Jump first. Then say the number.
40, 35, 30, 25
Count back. Fill in the missing numbers.
Going back across a ten: 52, 50, 48.
Count back to find the answer.
10s from any number
Today I will: count on and back in 10s from any number.
Ten more is straight down on a hundred square.
The ones digit stays the same: 7.
Ten less is straight up.
Ten more is straight down.
Fill in the pieces of the hundred square.
Down is 10 more. Up is 10 less.
Count on or back in 10s. Fill in the missing numbers.
Ten more or ten less?
Will you say it?
Today I will: use patterns to check a count, and fix a friend's count.
Will you say 35 if you count in 10s from 0?
From 0, the 10s end in 0. 35 ends in 5.
So no! 30, 40 — the jump goes over 35.
Start at your number. Keep the same jump.
Complete the number line. Then answer the question.
Count in 2s from 0. Will you say 13?
Count in 5s from 0. Will you say 30?
Fill in the missing numbers. Then say yes or no.
Count in 10s from 4. Will you say 34?
Count in 5s from 0. Will you say 52?
Think about it. Is the friend right? Tell a grown-up why.
Ada counts in 5s: 5, 10, 15, 20, 30. Is Ada right? Fix her count.
Finn counts in 10s from 28: 28, 30, 40, 50. Is Finn right? Fix his count.
Count in 3s
Today I will: count in 3s, forwards and back.
Count in 3s: 3, 6, 9, 12.
Same jump every time!
3, 6, 9, 12
Each tricycle has 3 wheels. How many wheels? Count in 3s.
Complete the number line. Count in 3s.
Fill in the missing numbers.
